The following are the features and precautions for the SP5000 series.
Refer to the following for the Box Modules and Display Modules you can connect together.
1.4.3 SP5000 Series
NVRAM is used as a backup memory. Please regard all instances of "SRAM" in this document as "NVRAM".
The features you can use on the Premium Display, Advanced Display, and eXtreme Display are different. If you are replacing the display module, check the differences in features first.
1.5.16.2 SP5000 Series
Open Box not only runs project files created with GP-Pro EX and communicates with the device/PLC, but also allows you to run user-created applications built using API functions. For more details, please refer to the following.
39.1 Overview
Set the IP addresses for LAN1 and LAN2 with different network segments. If you set an IP address with the same network segment in the display unit, the communication may not work properly.
Even if the display unit has multiple LAN ports, it cannot offer routing or bridge functionality.
When the Operation Lock feature is used while connecting with Ethernet Multilink or GP-Viewer EX, one of the multiple Ethernet settings the SP5000 series have will be displayed as the IP address of the location of the Operation Lock. Therefore, the IP address displayed may differ from that of the LAN port currently connected.
If a forced transfer dialog box displays when using a box module other than the Open Box, use the LAN1 port (Ethernet1) for Ethernet forced transfer. If you use the LAN2 port (Ethernet2), the Transfer Tool cannot recognize the box module.
When changing from a non-SP5000 series model to a SP5000 series model, or when changing between SP5000 series models, see the following.
5.6.1 Restrictions on Changing Models
If you display the system menu or Brightness/Contrast Control Bar in offline mode, updates to time display or other displays will be suspended temporarily.
SP5000 series project files can only be transferred to the same box module type.

* 1 You cannot transfer project files when SP-5700WCD or SP-5800WCD is set as the display module.
As the display module set in the project file is different from the one set in the location where the file is transferred to, the display may be cut off, enlarged, reduced, or otherwise display incorrectly.
As the eXtreme Display does not have a status LED, for example you cannot use the breathing LED to check the standby mode status when standby mode is set to [Screen OFF].
About the System Card
In the SP5000 series (excluding Standard Box), the system card contains information required to operate the display unit, such as system settings and project files for the display unit. If a box module is corrupted, you can just insert the system card you were using in another box module of the same type, making recovery quick.
You cannot move the system card between the Power Box and eXtreme Box.
If you insert the system card to another box module, the backup memory inside the box module will be initialized. As needed, back up the data on the backup memory on to external storage beforehand.
5.4.4.4 Display Unit [Mode] - Memory Card Settings
When replacing the system card, use SD Cards or CFast cards made by Digital Electronics Corporation (Pro-face). For optional equipment required for maintenance, refer to the corresponding hardware manual.
eXtreme Box, eXtreme Display: SP-5000X Series Hardware Manual
Other models: SP-5000 Series Hardware Manual
When replacing the system card, turn off the display unit and remove the box module from the display module. Check the Hardware Manual on how to replace the system card.
For backing up the system card, refer to the Pro-face support site (http://www.pro-face.com/trans/en/manual/1001.html).
We recommend that you set a password to prevent any unauthorized use of the system card data in other box modules.
23.10.1.1 Password Settings
DC Power Supply Adapter for Box Module
DC Power Supply Adapter for Box Module. When this product is attached, you can use a box module (except for the eXtreme Box) even without a Display Module.
For usage, refer to the "DC Power Supply Adapter for Box Module Installation Guide" or "SP5000 Series Hardware Manual".
You can download the manual from the Pro-face support site (http://www.pro-face.com/trans/en/manual/1001.html).
When you transfer project files or while performing maintenance, connect a display module*1 with the same screen size and resolution as defined at project creation. It may not be possible to determine whether setup was completed properly.
*1 Power Box/Standard Box: Display Module. Open Box: Display Module, Pro-face flat panel display or other commercially available display
Refer to the following for supported display modules.
1.4.3 SP5000 Series
In the System Settings [Display Unit] - [Remote Viewer], select [Pro-face Remote HMI] - [Enable]. If an error occurs, you can check them with the Pro-face Remote HMI.
When using the feature that stores the status in the internal device or the device/PLC address, design so that the external device can detect any display unit errors, as needed, by monitoring address values or using I/O.
When using the Open Box, you cannot use the DC Power Supply Adapter's SD card eject switch. For steps on removing the SD card, refer to the "DC Power Supply Adapter for Box Module Installation Guide".
When using the Power Box or Standard Box, you cannot use the LAN port on the DC Power Supply Adapter.
