If you change from a high resolution display type to a low resolution display type, the data that exceeds the range is not displayed. If you change back to a high resolution display type, the data that exceeded the range is displayed.
The maximum number of display characters on a part differs between a low resolution display type and a high resolution display type. If you change an alarm message created with a high resolution display type to a low resolution display type, any part that does not fall on the message screen is not displayed.
If you Convert Resolution, the part size, position, and the text size relative to the display resolution is adjusted automatically. Some scale magnification may not convert properly due to text size and resolution limitations.
When using the [Call Screen] command to load a keypad set up from the [Common Settings] menu's [Keypad Registration], its size is not adjusted when running Convert Resolution. If required, set up the keypad again after changing the display unit model.
Similarly, size adjustment does not occur for functions displayed in a special window, except for the Movie Player and Image Unit Window. Refer to the following for special windows.
12.9 Displaying Multiple Windows on a Single Screen
Available from the [System Settings], [Display Unit] in the [WinGP Settings] tab, the [Display Settings] do not change when you change IPC models. However, regardless of the IPC you are converting to, the [Specify Display Position] X and Y coordinates are initialized to 0 and the [Window Size] is initialized to XGA (1024x768) dimensions.
When changing the model to a GP4000 series (except for GP-4201TM/GP-4301TM) or IPC series unit, in the [System Settings] [Display Unit] node's [Operation] tab, [Touch Panel Operation on Back Light Off Detection] option changes to [Enable].
You cannot use the Font Area in the following models. When the project uses more than just fixed fonts and you change to one of the following display units, the screen area is used for the extra font information.
GP-3200 Series
GP-4100 Series (Monochrome Model)
GP-4201TM and GP-4301TM
ST3000 Series
If the resolution, display color, or color levels differ when changing the display unit, the [Common Settings] menu's [Register Start Screen] settings will be deleted. However, if only the display colors are different when changing between SP5000 Series models (excluding Open Box), then the [Register Start Screen] settings are not deleted.
When changing the model from the SP5000 series, GP4000 series, LT4000 series or PC series to other models, the size of windows and the display position is corrected and displayed as follows.
If the width is not in 4 pixel units, it is reduced to the 4 pixel unit closest in size.
If the position of the X coordinate is not a 4 pixel unit, it will move left to the next closest 4 pixel unit on the X coordinate.
When changing from a model with built-in I/O terminals to a model that with an external unit, the I/O driver also changes from an internal driver to an external driver. As a result, array element numbers of the following system variables are also replaced.
#L_IOInfo
#L_IOStatus
#L_IOFault
Example:
When changing from AGP-*****-CA1M (with built-in I/O terminal) to SP5000 series (with an external unit), #L_IOInfo changes from #L_IOInfo[1] to #L_IOInfo[2].
#L_IOInfo[1]: Internal Driver 1
#L_IOInfo[2]: External Driver 1
For more information about system variables, please see the following.
A.2.1 Logic System Variables - #L System Variables
When Changing to GP-4G01 from Other Models
In the [Device/PLC] settings, [Use Gateway Mode] is disabled.
When Changing from GP-4G01 to Other Models
In the [Device/PLC] settings, [Use Gateway Mode] is removed.
When Changing to GP-4100 Series (Color Model) from Other Models
In the [System Settings], [Input Equipment] screen, when [Port] is set to [COM1], you cannot change the model.
In the [System Settings], when the [Device/PLC], [Printer], [Input Equipment] or [Script] is set to a [Port] that is not supported by the display unit, you cannot change the model.
When Changing to GP-4100 Series (Monochrome Model) from Other Models
Removes parts and features unsupported by GP-4100 Series (Monochrome Model).
For multi-function switches and grouped parts, removes only the unsupported features.
1.5.6.1 For Those Using GP-4100 Series
When using [Standard Font] fixed sizes, font sizes will change as follows.
Before Change |
After Change |
---|---|
6x10 |
8x8 |
8x13 |
8x16 |
13x23 |
16x24 |
When using a [Message Display] with the [Display Text] set to [Text Display] and the [Font Type] set to [Image Font], the [Font Type] is converted to [Standard Font].
Colors are reduced for images used in Image Registration, Image Placement, and Background Image to [16 Levels] or [16 Levels (Reverse)].
When using the [Call Screen] command or a [Picture Display], and you set the [Call Object] to [Image CF]/[Image SD], it changes to [Image].
You cannot change to the GP-4100 Series (Monochrome Model) under the following conditions.
In the [System Settings], [Logic Programs], [Register Variable] is set to the [Variable Format] option, and Symbol Variables are registered.
In the [System Settings], [Logic Programs], [Register Variable] is set to the [Address Format].
Logic System Variables (#L system variables) are in use.
In the [System Settings], open the [Device/PLC], [Input Equipment], or [Script] settings. The [Port] or [Communication Settings] is initialized if it is not supported by the display unit.
In the [System Settings], [Script] screen, when [Port] is set to [COM1], you cannot change the model to GP-4104.
In the [System Settings], [Input Equipment] screen, when [Port] is set to [COM1], you cannot change the model to GP-4104.
When alarm messages are set up with multiple lines, the message will appear in the alarm part and display in one row, including the new line character "\n", with up to 160 single-byte characters.
In the alarm banner display, Standard Font size of [64] is converted to [32], and Stroke Font size of [32] is converted to [16].
When changing from the SP5000 series to other models
In the [System Settings], [Printer] screen, when [Port] is set to [COM2], you cannot change the model to anything other than a SP5000 series model.
If you are using a large image with many colors in a project, and you are place or register an image, or register a start screen, an error may appear after making the changes and you maybe unable to transfer project data. Click [Project] - [Utility] - [Reduce Images to 16-Bit Colors], and reduce the color in the image.
3.9.4.7 Utility - Reduce Color of Image to 16-Bit Color
When changing the model to something other than AGP-*****-CA1M, the CANopen driver settings are deleted.
When Changing to GP-4201TM or GP-4301TM Series from Other Models
In the [System Settings], [Script] screen, when [Port] is set to [COM1], you cannot change the model to GP-4201TM/GP-4301TM.

When using GP-4100 Series (except GP-411*T3), [Alarm] - [Storage Frequency] settings are either deleted or initialized.
When Changing to LT3000 Series from Other Models
In [System Settings] - [Display Unit], [Web Server], [FTP], and [Camera Viewer] settings are initialized.
In [System Settings] - [Display Unit] - [Extended Settings], [Ethernet Multilink Settings] is initialized.
After the conversion, the [I/O Driver] settings change, and the [Internal Driver] becomes [STD Driver] and [External Driver] becomes [EXM Driver].
When Changing to LT4000 Series from Other Models
In the [Device/PLC] settings, if the communication method is [RS-232C], and the Flow Control is [ER(DTR/CTS)], the Flow Control changes to [None].
If the communication method is [RS-232C] for the Printer, Input Equipment, Script, and Image Unit (Emulate Touch Output) settings, the Flow Control changes to [None].
If the communication method is [RS-422/485 (4wire)] in the [Script] settings, it changes to [RS-232C].

If you change to LT4000 series from a model with different I/O types, the I/O driver settings and the I/O screen are initialized.
When changing from LT3000 series to other models, be careful of the following.
If you set the pulse output's acceleration/deceleration time, both values are preserved. However, if you set the Acceleration/Deceleration time by using system variables, you must also set the deceleration time using #L_PLS*_DEC.
