When using GP-4100 Series (Color Model)
Unsupported Parts and Features
Limitations for Parts and Features
GP-4100 Series (Color Model) has the following features.
When the display unit and computer are connected with the USB transfer cable (TypeA miniB), and there is no device/PLC, LAN cable, or external storage device connected to the display unit, even if power is not being supplied from the display unit's power cable, you can transfer the project file (*.prx). However, due to the following limitations, make sure power is supplied from the power cable when operating the display unit.
Functions other than project data transfer may not operate.
Regardless of the brightness setting, the screen display may be dimmed. When power is supplied from the power cable the screen displays with the defined brightness setting.
For operation when changing to GP-4100 series from any other model, or when changing to other models from GP-4100 series, see the following.
5.6.1 Restrictions on Changing Models
2 point touch is not supported. Be aware that when you simultaneously touch two points on the touch panel, the touch coordinates are calculated at the center of the two touch points.
GP-411*T3 is equipped with NVRAM for backup memory. Please regard all instances of "SRAM" in this document as "NVRAM". For the type of backup data you can store in memory, as well as the priority when storing data, see the following.
2.3 About the Display Unit's Internal Data
As the GP-411*T is not equipped with backup memory, part of the internal memory is used as the backup area. User documents refer to this area as "virtual backup memory". Data in virtual backup memory, just like backup memory (SRAM), is preserved even when the display unit is turned off or restarted. You can check the virtual memory usage. From the [Project (F)] menu, point to [Information (I)], select [Project Information (I)], and then select [SRAM Information].
Turning off or restarting the GP-4100 Series (Color Model) initializes the internal clock. To maintain the clock data, you can either use the Clock Update Settings to update the clock data from a device/PLC, or attach the RTC Battery Set (option) to the display unit.
For information on precautions or how to attach the RTC Battery Set, refer to the corresponding hardware manual for your display unit.
See the following for information on Clock Update Settings.
5.5.2 Common - Clock Update Settings
You can use USB-connected printers, bar code readers and two-dimensional code readers.

You can copy GP-4100 series screens only to other GP-4100 series projects.
When changing to and from GP-4100 series models, see the following.
5.6.1 Restrictions on Changing Models
GP-4100 series do not support 2-point touch. Be aware that when you simultaneously touch two points on the touch panel, the touch coordinates are calculated at the center of the two touch points.
Since the models in the GP-4100 series are not equipped with backup memory, part of the internal memory is used as the backup area. User documents refer to this area as "virtual backup memory".
Data in virtual backup memory, just like backup memory (SRAM), is preserved even when the display unit is turned off or restarted.
You can check the virtual memory capacity. From the [Project (F)] menu, point to [Information (I)], select [Project Information (I)], and then select [SRAM Information].
The screen area is used when you use something other than fixed fonts. You can check the screen area capacity from the [System Settings], [Font].
Cannot save data to external storage (except for saving sampled data to a CSV file), or read data from external storage.
You can change between three backlight colors on the GP-4100 series. You can change the backlight using one of these methods. From the base screen's shortcut menu, select [Change Attributes] and in the dialog box set the [Backlight Color] and [Backlight Blink]. Or you can use the #H_BackLightColor system variable. You cannot use the [Common Settings] menu's [Change Backlight Color] command.
GP410*G1D: Green/Red/Orange
GP410*W1D: White/Red/Peach
When resetting or turning OFF the GP-4100 series unit, the clock is initialized. You need to update the clock. GP-4100 series units support getting clock information from a device/PLC.
5.5.2 Common - Clock Update Settings
Unable to communicate with multiple devices/PLCs set up with different drivers.
When using Ethernet Multilink, you can use the GP-4104 only as a slave display unit. You cannot use it as a master display unit. Additionally, you can set up a maximum of 2 devices/PLCs.
The GP-4104 cannot connect to a network printer.
You cannot set [Bit Length] or [Data Format] to 8 bits.
