 Can I collect text data?


If you select [Text] for [Data Type] in Sampling Settings, you’ll be able to collect the text data stored in the device of the connected Device/PLC.

 
1. Click [Sampling] on the [Common Settings] menu.
2. Click [New].
 
3. The [New Sampling Group] window appears. Specify the number of the sampling group to be registered and click [OK].

For Address : [Random]
For Device/PLC : The name of the Device/PLC in which the text data are stored

Select each.
 
5. Double click the [Data Type] column to display the pull-down menu. Select [Text].
 
6. Click the [Address] column.
Click the displayed  icon to display the keypad for "Input Address". Specify the start address of the device in which the text data to be collected are stored.
Click the [Ent] button to confirm the entered address.
 
7. Double click the [ # ] column and enter the number of characters to be collected.
<Setup Example> Start Address: D100, Number of Characters: 4 one-byte characters
These two words, D100 and D101, are specified to collect 4-character text data.

NOTE
For one-byte characters, 2 characters automatically occupy 1 Word. For double-byte, 1 character occupies 1 Word.
 
8. Click the [Mode] tab and specify conditions for the time of data collection.
(Configure the other settings if needed)
