Effects on various features when changing the clock in the display unit
When changing the display unit's clock, depending on the timing, there may be the following effects to features that use clock data.
When using the [Common Settings] - [Sampling] settings, a read error is stored for sampling data that could not be read due to the clock being advanced. (Read errors display as "****" or "----")
Also, even if you roll back the clock and the same time comes once again, the data that was stored the previous time is not overwritten.
When using [Common Settings] - [Time Schedule] settings, there are operations that do not execute due to the clock being advanced. Also, by rolling back the clock, there are cases where operations are executed twice.
The time and date in the data saved prior to changing the clock cannot be changed. When the sampling data, alarm data and operation log appear as invalid data when the data is not in chronological order before and after a change to the clock. Also, when displaying historical data using the historical trend graph, there may be cases where the graph display does not display properly.
The following feature uses a time stamp in the file name each time the data is stored to external storage or to an FTP server. If a file with the same name already exists, it may be overwritten.
Operation Log
When [Append Date/Time to File Name] is set up from the [Common] - [Sampling Settings] - [Display/Save in CSV] tab
Movie File
When saving a screen capture to FTP
When you have set [Video Snapshot] in the Image Unit Window and you are saving to FTP
When auto numbering the transfer of CSV data transfer from [Common Settings] - [Recipes], if the file number and time stamp lose consistency, a file could be overwritten at some unexpected time.
Restrictions when setting daylight savings time in the SP5000 Series (excluding Open Box)
If the clock data is obtained from the connecting device using the Common Settings-[Clock Update Settings], when the daylight saving time is used, the display unit's clock may not match the clock of the connecting device temporarily.
Ethernet Multilink Restrictions
On slave display units, you cannot use the [Common Settings] menu's [Clock Update Settings] to automatically get the time. From the [Clock Update Settings] dialog box, select the [Customize] check box and set up the address values to read as time data. You can retrieve the device/PLC data via the master display unit.
If you want to use time functions on the slave display unit right after powering up, design your system so that the function runs after the clock on the slave display unit is updated. The time lag from when the slave display unit is powered up to when its clock is updated depends on the structure of the Ethernet Multilink connection.
