A Configuration File(*.pfpc) is a file that contains saved system settings for a display unit and device/PLC etc. When creating a new project, you can read a configuration file as GP-Pro EX system settings.
The Configuration File can be created from the Pro-face website "Pro-face Device Configurator". Pro-face Device Configurator, you can download the the configuration of the selected display unit and device/PLC as a Configuration File, allowing you to easily confirm the device/PLC and display unit type, cable type required, and how to connect various unit devices.
Setup Procedure
Step 1. Create a Configuration File(*.pfpc)
Access the "Pro-face Device Configurator" from the Pro-face website.
Select the display unit and device/PLC etc, and download the Configuration File.
Step 2. Create a project
Start GP-Pro EX, and from the menu, click [Project] - [New].
After the [Welcome to GP-Pro EX] dialog box appears, select [Create Project From Configuration File (Pro-face Device Configurator)], then click the [OK] button.
When the file selection dialogue box appears, select the Configuration File (*pfpc) that was created in step 1, and then click [Open].
Thus, a project has now been created. After creating the project, check the display unit and device/PLC from the [Project] menu, then click [Display] or [System Settings], and perform detailed settings.
The Configuration File is a read-only file. Even if you try to save the project data (*.prx) using GP-Pro Ex, changes to Configuration File will not be reflected.
Reading of a Configuration File can only be done when creating a new project.
