The version of MSGINA.DLL will be set to 5.0.2195.4733 if Windows®2000 SP3 is installed. An error message is displayed at the time of Windows starting, and it becomes impossible to start.
This condition is avoidable with Windows®2000 SP4, or installation of Windows®2000 security update (KB824141). |
- |
In the device manager of Windows®2000, "!" is displayed on "Digital SoftMirror IDE Driver".
It does not have influence on operation. |
- |
If Windows®2000 is started with an USB device connected, it may result in a blue screen.
When you use an USB device, please connect after Windows®2000 has started up. |
- |
When the hard disk changes to other one which rebuilt with
other computers in mirror status "Good", mirror status may be
set to "Good". Please do not use the hard disk which rebuilt
with other computers. |
- |
With too much vibration or heat, when it becomes impossible to
use one hard disk while in use, it becomes impossible to also
use another hard disk, and OS may freeze. Moreover, even if it
switches on a power supply in the state, a hard disk cannot be recognized and OS may be unable to be started.
In this case, after removing an external factor, it is necessary to reboot. |
- |
Not support for audio CD. Do not insert audio CD in CD-ROM
drive. |
- |
When the file system changed by the convert command,
information of Mirror Status might be lost, and Mirror Status
return to "Unconfig". In this case, it is possible to use it
by executing "Config Mirror" and "Rebuild" again. |

Setup to stop HDD |
|
To extend the operating life of the hard disk, Pro-face recommend you use one of the following procedures to turn the hard disk off when the unit is not being operated.
Pro-face recommands a setting of [After 5 min]. |
|
- |
When running Windows®2000 |
|
Set the Windows [Control Panel]-[Power Options]-[Power Schemes] tab's [Turn off hard disks:] selection. |
- |
When running Windows NT® |
|
1. |
Click on the [Start] -> [Program] -> [System Monitor] -> [System Monitor Property] selections. |
2. |

3. |
Click [OK] to finish Setting. |
4. |
Make short cut to [System Monitor] in [Start] -> [Program] -> [Startup].
(System Monitor stops hard disks, since Windows NT® does not have a function of hard disk stop.) |
|
|
- |
When System Monitor is already registered into start-up, the error message
"System monitor has started. Terminate the system monitor in Starting"
is displayed at the time of OS starting.
